This section is divided into 2 main parts:

Within each part there is a core document providing an overview and lessons learned, followed by a selection of practical examples from different countries.

Quick definitions

Data management: [in the context of this toolkit] refers to the collection, storage, processing, dissemination and efficient use of information in the context of monitoring and evaluation.

Record keeping: refers to the systematic recording of information in standardised formats. It is sometimes also understood to mean the storage of such information.

Monitoring: is the routine process of tracking inputs and outputs. It should provide information on whether an intervention is on track or on budget.[1]

Evaluation: is the systematic and objective assessment at one point in time of the impact of a piece of work against planned results.[2]
